StayBillety partners with Ryerson University to provide students with affordable off-campus housing
TORONTO, ON – (JANUARY 18, 2017) - Today, StayBillety and Ryerson University’s Off-Campus Housing Office announce their official partnership. The Affiliation Agreement will help provide safe and affordable housing for Ryerson University students by connecting them with each other and the broader Ryerson community.
Finding a roommate who shares common interests can be a challenge when starting out at University. StayBillety’s online accommodation service connects like-minded hosts and those in need of housing. In addition to listing their available space, students can post ‘requests’ to the site to help them connect with potential roommates.
Booking short or medium term housing can be a more flexible and attractive option for students, rather than signing a long-term lease.
Visiting faculty, exchange students, and alumni will also benefit through using StayBillety to find accommodation associated with the Ryerson University community.
“StayBillety is a unique, safe and comfortable way for our students to connect with each other and with housing opportunities in Ryerson’s neighbourhood,” said Valerie Bruce, Coordinator, Housing Operations and Administration at Ryerson University.
Barbara Jones, Founder and CEO of StayBillety, is a Ryerson Alumna. “I graduated from Ryerson 30 years ago. Finding suitable and affordable housing in downtown Toronto was difficult then and it’s much more challenging today”, said Jones. “StayBillety will help members of the Ryerson community connect. It’s about tribes. People who share interests can use our site to share their extra space.”
StayBillety is focused on serving the short and medium term accommodation needs of communities. The site encourages students, Ryerson area-residents, and Ryerson alumni to list their extra space for visiting faculty, exchange students, and alumni.
Each StayBillety booking supports groups, organizations or charity. This affiliate partnership with Ryerson specifically supports the University’s Off-Campus Housing office. Ryerson University is holding an off-campus housing fair at the Ryerson Student Learning Centre on February 2nd; students can learn more about StayBillety at that event.
Launched in March 2016 and based in Cambridge, Ontario (Waterloo Region), StayBillety is an international affordable, online accommodation service connecting like-minded guests and hosts. Celebrating community with its unique affinity-based affiliate model, StayBillety is also a social enterprise whose business supports groups, organizations and charities. With StayBillety, guests traveling for concerts, commencements or competitions connect with enterprising hosts who share their common interests. Click here for press kit and media page.
