Ottawa Tulip Festival
In the heart of Ottawa, from May 8th to May 18th, the Ottawa City Council will be arranging the Canadian Tulip Festival.
The tulip is the official flower of Ottawa, an emblem of the friendship between Canada and the Netherlands during World War II. Since 1953, festival goers have watched the colorful tulips in bloom while equally enjoying the Dutch culture, live music on Friendship Stage, and mesmerizing firework display.
Workshops are offered for kids and adults, attracting all ages to the festival. Outside of festival grounds, popular tourist attractions include ByWard Market, Parliament Hill and the UNESCO Rideau Canal.
